Acceptance of Terms

Payment of deposit or other charges constitutes acceptance of these terms. This applies equally to all persons included in the reservation who will be staying or using the Chalet facilities.

Deposit And Balance Payment

We will process the deposit of 30% of the accommodation charge at time of booking at which time a confirmation will be emailed. For all winter bookings made prior to June the balance is payable on 1st June or 30 days prior to arrival whichever is first. For all other bookings the balance is due 30 days prior to arrival. Failure to pay balance by the due date will result in cancellation. For all bookings less than 30 days prior to arrival the full accommodation charge will be made at the time of booking.

After Hours Arrivals

Reception hours are from 2.30pm to 5:30pm daily. If you are arriving outside of these hours, please contact the lodge at least 24 hours prior to 2:30pm on your arrival day to arrange an after-hours key collection. We reserve the right to keep any deposit or moneys paid, as well as charge the total amount of the booking if you fail to check in during the period of your booking.

Check-In Policy

Contactless check-in must be completed prior to arrival. Mobile phone coverage is limited in the Chalet and this may prevent check-in on site. Room keys will not be issued until check-in is complete. It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure this is done.

Check-in time is no earlier than 2:30pm. The person who’s name the room was booked under must be present and part of the travelling party staying at the Chalet. A valid credit card or debit card and identification in the same name that the room was booked under will be required on arrival. If guests fail to comply with the check-in requirements, we reserve the right to deny check-in and keep any deposit or moneys already paid, as well as charge the total amount of the booking.

Third Party Payment Policy

If any room nights or additional charges are to be paid for by a third party, or anyone else other than the person who’s name the booking was made under, the Chalet must be notified more than 48 hours prior to 2:30pm on your arrival date. An email address must be provided with the notification, so that a credit card authority to charge form can be sent to the third party liable for any charges. The completed authority to charge form accompanied by any attachments required pursuant to the form must be returned to the lodge by email or fax at least 24 hours prior to 2pm on your arrival date. If the guest fails to comply with any of these requirements, we reserve the right to charge the original credit card provided for the booking. If payment cannot be taken from the original card provided, we reserve the right to deny check-in and keep any deposit or moneys already paid, as well as charge the total amount of the booking.

Room Requests And Assignment

Rooms are assigned by the booking system and at the discretion of Sponars Chalet. Room requests can be made. We do not guarantee adjacent rooms but will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests. We reserve the right to change room type or configuration as is required by daily operations of the Chalet.

Cancellation And Refunds Policy

Booking cancellations in the first 24hr are eligible for a full refund provided no cost is incurred by Sponars Chalet. After that the 30% deposit is non refundable. The balance paid 30 days prior to arrival or on 1st June is non refundable.

School booking deposits are non refundable.

We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to cover you in case of mishap.

COVID 19 Special Policy

This policy is provided by Sponars Chalet entirely at the discretion of Sponars Chalet. It may be modified or withdrawn at any time and is not guaranteed to be available to all those with bookings. It also does not replace the standard booking conditions. Guests must comply with the deposit and balance payment terms for the COVID 19 Special Policy to be offered.

You will have the opportunity to postpone or delay your holiday if the following happens;

  • Government policies regarding COVID 19 prevent you from travelling on your intended dates.
  • You or your immediate family contract COVID19 and you are unable to travel on your intended dates.

Your booking can either be deferred 12 months or we can issue a credit on your guest account that you can use summer or winter over the next 3 years.

Once one of the above conditions occurs that will prevent you from travelling to Sponars Chalet for your stay you have a 48 hour window to move your booking. Contact is to be made via email to info@sponars.com.au with proposed date changes. Failure to take action within this time may result in the cancellation of your booking.

If a guest has already arrived at Sponars Chalet and an impending border closure requires them to leave early in order to get home, then a credit on their guest account can be arranged for their remaining nights less 1 of their reservation.

Dispatch And Delivery Policy

Your parcel will be delivered within Australia via Australia post. Please ensure you enter the correct delivery address as parcels which are returned to us incur a second delivery fee. All freight charges are non refundable.

Reservation Amendments

Amendments to reservations can be requested up to 30 days prior to arrival. Acceptance of all amendments are at the discretion of Sponars Chalet and will also depend on availability. Amendments do not change the deposit or balance payment terms and dates unless the booking is moved to an earlier date in which case this earlier date will be used. Amendments once confirmed will attract a $80 fee per room. Additional charges will be made if the resultant tariff increases. Refunds or credits will not be given for amendments that result in a reduced tariff. Changes to arrival date may not exceed 6 calendar months from the original reservation date.

Cooking In Rooms

All cooking in rooms is strictly prohibited

Fire Alarms

A guest causing a fire false alarm will be liable for any charges or penalties given to Sponars Chalet. Currently the false alarm fee is $1900.00.

Dining In

The restaurant and bar may be closed outside the ski season.

Parking

Sponars has a private car park for guest use. Each room has one complementary parking space assigned for your stay. Additional car spaces may be available depending on occupancy and will incur an additional daily parking fee.

Early Departure or Late Arrival

Sponars Chalet shall not have any obligation to refund any amount of money which has been paid in the event of late arrival or early departure.

Compliance of Policies

We reserve the right to cancel or modify bookings where it appears the reservation contains mistakes or appears to be an effort to circumvent the Chalet policies, terms and conditions.

Sponars Chalet is licensed for a specified number of persons per night. Additional persons will constitute a breach of the occupancy arrangements with the National Parks and will incur additional charges per person at the hotel’s full rate.

Should the terms and conditions of the occupancy be breached, the Sponars Chalet reserves the right to immediately terminate the occupancy or cancel the reservation. The Guest and any other occupant shall immediately vacate the room. Sponars Chalet shall not have any obligation whatsoever to refund any amount of money which has been paid.
